Playschemes

ASAS run playschemes for children and young people with additional needs* in the Easter and Summer holidays, and a Christmas Activity Day in December. This provision is for children from the September after their 5th birthday, up to but not including their18th birthday, who live in the Aireborough area of Leeds (LS5, 16, 18, 19 20 & 21) and is usually based at Green Meadows Academy, Guiseley.
*This includes: learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, complex health needs and more.
We support children with medical needs, challenging behaviours and profound learning & physical disabilities.
We have highly trained and experienced leaders to care for the children, all of whom are DBS checked and trusted members of our team. They regularly undertake safeguarding training and other specific training such as
Team Teach, First Aid, Epilepsy, Epipen Administration, Moving & Handling and Behaviour management.
The cost is £16 per child per day. However, this fee is negotiable. As a charity, we never want a child to miss out due to financial constraints.
During playschemes, the children take part in a programme of activities, e.g. Swimming/hydrotherapy, trampolining/rebound therapy, arts & crafts, cooking, music & movement, drama, entertainers, animals visits
and trips, e.g. to the cinema, bowling, climbing, sailing, to parks, play centres, farms and many, many more activities and places.

During playschemes, we cater for up to 35 children per day and provide them with leisure opportunities that they may otherwise struggle to access due to the nature of their disability.

We aim to offer some days to all eligible children, subject to availability.

If you would like to discuss your child attending our scheme, or you know a family who would, then contact us for more information.
